Outriders – AMBER VAULT Legendary Weapon Review

In today’s review, we have the Amber Vault, which is a weapon I used for quite some time until I got the Thunderbird. The Amber Vault is a legendary double gun, which is basically two assault rifles in one. The gun has this crystal rock-like formation that looks to be breaking out of a bolder. This gun, of course, follows the ever-so-clear repetitive bone structure with what looks to be a rib cage-like style hugging the orange crystal, or amber, that makes up the barrel of the weapon.

I’m not too hyped about the looks of this weapon honestly, it just seems like it’s trying to be too many things all at once. You’ve got the body of a double gun, the rocks in the middle, crystal structure at the front, bone covering both the front and back of the weapon, chains on the back, and some cloth covering part of the middle. A lot is going on here and it seems quite messy, at least that’s my opinion. Now, let’s move on to the stats and mods.

Amber Vault

Stats and Mods

The clip size for the Amber Vault is 60, and the RPM is 750, which is actually really good for this weapon. The damage is 12, with the reload speed being quite high at 2.7 seconds long, and the crit multiplier is standard for a double gun at 125%. The accuracy and the stability is the main thing that counts for this gun purely because of the mods it has. The accuracy is 76%, and the stability is 79%, with the effective range finishing off at 50 meters.

Now, the reason why I say that accuracy and stability are key to this gun is because of the mods, and here’s why.
The first mod is called Killing Spree, in which killing shots increase damage by 30% for this weapon for 30 seconds with the bonus deteriorating over time and stacks up to 5 kills.

The second mod is called Brain-Eater, where critical shots do not consume ammo. This means that by utilizing the accuracy and stability correctly, potentially you’ll never have to reload this weapon. If you keep on hitting your crits, and you keep on killing enemies with crit shots, this gun’s ammo will never ever run out. I’ve cleared out entire areas with this gun without reloading a single time. It’s pretty strong, although there are some drawbacks.

My Opinion

The Amber Vault isn’t a bad gun and is quite close to being perfect. For someone that is generally good at landing crit shots, I find myself reloading very little in my time using it. What really lets this gun down is the bullet spread. When you have other legendaries like the Thunderbird which does insane damage with its lightning and its ridiculous range, it makes guns like the Amber Vault pointless.

By the time an enemy comes close enough for you to land your consistent crit shots and make the most out of these weapons mods, you can just as easily bring out your shotgun and finish the job quicker. And if you had the Golem’s Limb shotgun, the range on that is good enough to finish off an enemy rather than focusing on landing crits with the Amber Vault. It’s a good gun, and it’s really fun to use.

For a starter weapon, or as your first legendary, you’re really going to have a good time using it and it does trim down enemies relatively quickly. However, when you discover new legendaries you’re going to be switching out this weapon fairly quickly. For these reasons, I’m giving this gun a solid 8/10. It’s a good gun like I said, and it does everything it’s set out to do, it’s just not something you’re going to hold onto when you get your hands on something else.

I really hope you found my video and article to be useful. Comment down below your thoughts. Do you have this weapon? What are your thoughts compared to other legendaries? Have fun in Outriders, good luck on your legendary farm, and I’ll see you in the next MGN Article!
