Outriders – VOODOO MATCHMAKER Weapon Review

We are at it again with another Outriders legendary weapon! This time I bring you the witchcraft-looking, Voodoo Matchmaker.

The Voodoo Matchmaker is a legendary Assault rifle, and honestly, it looks horrifying. What appears to be a normal assault rifle body has just been covered and corrupted in what looks to be all the tools of witchcraft. From the bones at the end of the gun to the voodoo dolls hanging from the barrel, this gun really has that creepy factor to it.

To give a sense of this gun really being corrupted with some sort of magic, the front of it appears to be on fire, lit from a rag wrapped around it. This also gives the impression that all of these materials were fused together to conjure up something quite devastating. And it does just that!

Stats and mods

The clip size of the magazine is a total of 40, followed by the RPM of 600. Damage is at 13, the reload speed is 1.5 seconds making this a really quick gun to reload, and the crit multiplier is sitting at 125%. The accuracy of Voodoo Matchmaker is 865, which is actually really quite incredible as this means that crits are going to be much easier to hit.

The stability also complements this at 91%, so you really should have no trouble landing those bigger numbers when aiming for the head. The range is at 35 meters, which is really quite far. Clearly not as far as a single-shot rifle but nevertheless, that’s still a respectable distance.

The mods are what really make the name of this weapon come to life, though. Allow me to explain. The first mod is called Ultimate Damage Link, which makes the shots you fire link up to 2 more enemies, sharing 30% of their weapon damage dealt and a further 10% of their Anomaly damage dealt.

This means that the more damage they do to you, the stronger this weapon gets when shooting right back at them. The second mod for Voodoo Matchmaker is Vulnerability Bullets, whereby shots inflict Vulnerable on enemies. This has a cooldown of 8 seconds.

My opinion

Voodoo Matchmaker feels amazing to shoot. The pinpoint accuracy of this legendary AR makes it so easy to shoot your targets in the head, and then seeing damage numbers appear above close by enemies because of its Ultimate Damage Link perk, it’s very satisfying…ish. Let me expound.

The problem that I have with this gun is with the Ultimate Damage Link mod as it specifically states that it will link up to two more enemies, sharing 30% of their weapon damage dealt and 10% of their Anomaly damage dealt. If this mod latches onto enemies that haven’t shot at you much, the damage numbers are really going to be quite low, so hanging back with this weapon isn’t the best idea to take.

This weapon really requires you to play smart, because as much as it encourages you to get deeper into the gunfight, you can be easily overrun with enemies that charge at you, causing you to back off and look for cover, or panic meleeing to get yourself out of tight spots. Playing smart avoids a lot of these issues and I found myself really making the most out of the mods that Voodoo Matchmaker has to offer us. Visually, the gun looks both creepy and stunning, and as I said earlier, it feels really powerful to use in terms of its base damage. The Vulnerability bullets also help out a lot too which makes you, the player, feel even more god-like! Based on this, I’m going to score this gun a solid 8/10.

This isn’t a bad gun at all, and I am definitely going to be using it a lot more after just recently getting it. Do you have this gun too? Let me know in the comments below. Tell me about your experiences with it. Do you like it? Do you not like it? Let us know. I’d personally be very interested to see what you have to say! As always, thank you for reading, and until next time!
