Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny – Official New Characters Trailer

Great news for Nintendo Switch players and for those who want to play, Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny! They just released an official new characters trailer! The trailer highlights four of the game’s new classes, the Evil Eye, Pincer Shell, Mecha Girl, and Psychic along with their abilities. Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny was announced last September, and is the first game in the long-running strategy RPG series to feature 3D visuals.

The game revolves around Zed, a zombie, and his sister Bieko. Zed must use his unique ability in order to journey across the Netherworlds and face the God of Destruction. Aside from the other characters that will be added, characters Laharl Etna and Flonne will make a return as part of the post-game. Additionally, characters from Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories to Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance are set to appear as DLC, which will be split into waves:

  • Wave 1 will feature Adell, Rozalin, Laharl-chan, and Asagi, who will be available for free.
  • Wave 2 will feature Mao, Raspberyl, Valvatorez, and Pleinair.
  • Wave 3 will feature Fuka, Desco, Killia, and Usalia.

The base gameplay of Disgaea 6 appears to follow the same as its predecessor. Some mechanics are making a comeback which includes Weapon Mastery, Weapon resistances, Evilities, Squads, dispatch groups, and Reincarnation.

Super Reincarnation, a variant of Reincarnation (but more super), is set to appear in this game as well. The level cap has been raised to 99,999,999, and stat caps appear to exceed 10 quadrillion (!) for HP/SP, and 100 billion for all other stats. Potential damage can now exceed 1 quadrillion with these raised stat maximums in mind. Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny will be coming on Switch this June 28.
