League of Maidens is a single player action RPG built using Unreal Engine 4. Impressively, this game is made by only three developers! The game released on Steam Feb 25th, 2021, and it allows you to create and customize your own battle maiden. You will fight giant bosses, upgrade your superpowers, and unlock highly revealing outfits…
In The League of Maidens there are three factions in the game, two of which are available to play now and one which is “coming soon”. There are the Divinians, the Netherians, and the “coming soons”. Just kidding about that last one… In addition to choosing from the two, soon to be three factions – there are also 5 classes you can choose from. They are the Warrior, Tank, Healer, Assassin, and the Sorceress.
In terms of character customization, there are a lot of options to choose from. In all the games I’ve played, I have never seen a game that has more sliders, selectors, and customizations to choose from than this one. Oh, and it is probably a good time to mention that this game has some very provocative physics…
The chests, for example, do not appear to follow Newton’s Gravity Laws… Let’s just leave it that… If you are easily offended, you may want to avoid this title. That said, if character customization is your thing – this game delivers it in spades.
The UI interaction feels very polished, every time you hover over something you get audio and visual feedback. Loot crates also make an appearance, even before you enter the game.
The voice acting is also quite strong, especially considering that this game only has 3 developers. Learning the game is also fairly easy, as there is a decent set of tutorials to get you familiar with the keys.
The game also has an “adult filter”. If seeing sparely clad, pixelated women with giant breasts is your thing, you’ve come to the right place. Better (or worse) yet, there is nudity if you remove the filter. There will undoubtedly be a lot of interesting screen shots and videos coming out of this game…
There are also some pretty cool combos that you can execute. I’ve done a few 8 move combos and it made the game a lot of fun, though I don’t entirely know how I pulled off the combos. Why super heroes, ahem… battle maidens… need guns however is a mystery to me. It seems a little out of place to me.
- Insane character creation
- Impressive project for a 3 man team
- Story and voice acting are surprisingly good
- F2P with good combat and cosmetics
- Gunplay is boring and doesn’t fit the game – manually reloading is lame
- The game has bugs in its current state
- If you are easily offended by exaggerated female body features… Steer clear of this game
- The UI is not very intuitive
