Scrap Mechanic is an incredible sandbox open-world game that allows you to craft different things, build a farm, and send them off to trade. Imagine a farming simulator meets tower defense game. Good times. Your character has crash-landed on a planet that is run by robots, but these are not regular robots, they are farm robots that went on strike.
This game incorporates a variety of ideas, perspectives (first and third person), as well as a unique storyline unlike any current game on the market.
As mentioned above, farming is an important part of the game. Sadly, once you place down your farm, you are put on a timer. You have a time limit before robots start to come after you. They don’t like you farming and they will express their displeasure. Violently.
There are a bunch of interesting enemies, so make sure you build a really big truck. You can also take your gear to get upgraded. There are also a huge variety of weapons.
If you decide to give the game a try, I highly recommend playing it with a few friends. This game is incredibly fun and there were a lot of moments where we laughed our faces off. This game is definitely made for madcap antics of all types.
Another great thing in this game is that you can pick up and leave…literally. Pack up all your gear, put it in a van, and drive off. It’s the gaming equivalent of the Instagram “Van Life” movement. Except you’re on an alien planet…and you’re routinely attacked by robots…okay, maybe that analogy didn’t work that well. Moving on.

With Scrap Mechanic’s powerful creation tools, you can engineer your own adventures! Scrap Mechanic is an underrated game that is so creative and fun, with so many things you can build, and with the survival mode on it’s such a blast.
If you just want to build, well there’s a creative mode. If you just want a challenge, heck there’s a challenge mode where you solve puzzles.
All-in-all, this game is incredibly fun, especially when playing with a few of your mates. Get ready to bob your head, get thrown out of vehicles, and defend against some very anti-farming, hostile robots!
