Metal: Hellsinger Demo Out Now

One of the notable announcements at the Summer Game Fest for me was the Metal: Hellsinger demo being released and it’s release date.

Think Rythm Game meets Doom Gameplay, featuring an epic Metal Soundtrack you play the game to. That is what this game is, and it plays great from my experience. I’ve seen comments from people who play a lot of rythm games with some suggestions to tweak the gameplay further, but the general feedback is the foundation is very solid, and I would absolutely have to agree.

The game features some killer names such as Matt Heafy (Trivium), Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy), Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer), and many more. On the story side, award-winning actors Troy Baker and Jennifer Hale lend their voices to the main characters.

Alissa White-Gluz is of particular note for me, as I absolutely love her vocals, especially her cleans, and this game uses both and thankfully the demo features the track she recorded vocals for, making it the perfect demo!

The demo does have performance issues however, I even found my 3080 OC dropping into the 60s at 1440p during the boss fight, so there is definitely some polish to be done. I also have to unfortunately report the demo does not currently run on steam deck which is a shame, as I could see it really shining here.

I strongly recommend people check out the game theirselves, as it is much better to experience it than read about.

It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on September 15, It will cost $39.99 on console and $29.99 on PC.
