00:21 – Enemy Stamina System (Stagger Replacements)

I made an infographic on a concept about stagger in New World: newworldgame

Even though the stagger was eliminated in New World, certain larger monsters still retain stamina and we should use mild and hard assaults to wriggle that stamina down. Heavy hits and some abilities can further deplete it, and if you completely shatter it, you can knock them out. As a result, strong strikes are still helpful in this situation. This allows you to take advantage of their frailty and knock them out and get more DPS out of them.

We can break the mob’s shield the same way they break ours if they have one. Some talents and weapons, such as the war hammer, are more successful than others at doing so.

00:50 – Equipment Load System

You will receive a damage boost if you wear light enough armor to be within the light threshold. The percentages are 20% for light and 10% for medium. It’s something to think about in PvP, especially if you’re particularly interested in dueling. For stuns, slows, and roots, you gain a duration boost for both medium and heavy armor packs. The percentages are 20% for heavy and 10% for middling.

Furthermore, each weight class of armor now has three distinct forms of armor distribution, with heavy armor having the greatest armor ratings for both physical and elemental damage and light armor having the lowest. This works in conjunction with the equipment load system to provide varying trade-offs based on the armor you’re wearing.

01:33 – Backstabs & Headshots

A backstab is a guaranteed critical attack that you can perform if you get behind your opponent. This is helpful because if you use crowd control in your build, you can exploit opponent weak areas in PvP after stunning them. Or you can fight monsters in PvE conventionally by remaining behind them and DPSing boss mobs. Bear in mind that this only applies to melee damage.

01:56 – Status Effects & Weapon Damage

During a fight, there will be symbols placed around the target’s health to signal status effects you apply to them, as well as damage numbers/colors to represent how much damage you’re dealing and if the attack type improves or lowers the target’s effectiveness.

You can tell if an attack type is effective or not by looking at the tiny arrows that appear next to the weapon damage. The mob is strong against or indifferent to the element if the color is white. If it’s blue, they’re strong against it and the arrow should be pointing down. If it’s yellow, they’re weak against it and the arrow should be pointing up.

02:30 – Types of Damage

At this time, there are four main forms of weapon damage in New World: slashing, thrusting, striking, and elemental attacks. And with Fire, Lightning, Void, Ice, Arcane, and Nature, there are a total of six different attacking components.

03:17 – Block & Threat System

If you’re a tank, shields now provide extra armor to your character, as well as the block chance, but threat generation now comes from both blocking and healing as well. Using the help of a Carnelian gem socketed within your weapon, you may generate danger with a variety of skills. While mining ore, this gem has a chance to drop.

03:46 – Consumable Cooldowns

Consumables have different cooldowns for when they may be utilized. This implies that you must be exceedingly cautious during a high-stakes battle to avoid wasting anything that may help you regain your resources. It takes 10 seconds for mana potions and cleaning potions of any type. It takes 30 seconds for health and health regen potions, and 60 seconds for haste potions.

04:12 – Critical System & Perks/Attributes

There are additional elements that impact critical hits besides simply standing behind an adversary. To begin with, all weapons have a critical hit probability allocated to them. They vary from 3-5 percent, and you’ll uncover different perks or passives that enhance both critical hit probability and critical damage as you progress through the game.

Dexterity is an example of an attribute that influences this. For example, after you reach 50 points, it will begin to offer you a 5% chance to critical hit, which is something you should always keep in mind while creating melee DPS setups. Additionally, when you receive a critical hit, the numbers on your screen will become orange.

04:51 – Grit System

Grit is a type of super armor that allows us and our opponents to perform abilities without being stopped. Grit assaults are also something to watch out for. Some talents will give you this state, and your basic and heavy melee strikes will have it by default if you reach 300 Strength. Enemies will also perform this rather regularly during fights, and you’ll notice a white aura around them to indicate that it’s a grit attack.
